Andrew Beattie Freelance Graphic Designer
About Key experience Seventeen years broad design experience, including ten years of freelancing in print, screen, signage, exhibition design, packaging, and corporate identity/branding etc. Print projects include brochures, technical literature, annual reports and accounts, books, stationary and magazines. I can handle all stages, from initial client brief and through to seeing a job on press. Screen based (since 1995) projects include intra/extranets, multi-device websites for PDA, WAP and CD-ROM. My role covers: concept and design (defining the look and feel); content; navigation; usability studies and competitor analysis, working closely with development team ensuring an effective workflow. I work well as an individual, as part of a team, as a project leader or under direction – my involvement differs greatly – sometimes just generating concepts for a initial pitch, through to helping out during the final stages. Able to project manage: presenting and dealing directly with clients, scheduling, risk analysis, organising and commissioning of copywriters, photographers, site builders, database developers, interactive developers, set designers, illustrators, repro houses, printers, and freelance graphic designers, ensuring that quality, timescale and budget are maintained.
